HSE to vaccinate all under-aged boys and girls with HPV vaccine
The benefits of the HPV vaccine are well recognised by the Irish society. For this reason, in 2019, the vaccination of 1st Year boys is introduced in the state's programme, after the girls's programme is already established.
However, transitional period is not provided as older boys are refused the opportunity to get vaccinated. Moreover, girls (who have missed their vaccination in 1st Year for other than medical reasons) are refused the opportunity to get vaccinated as well.
The vaccine is highly recommended by the medical community to both genders up to the age of 26.
This petition asks from the Irish legislative authority to give the opportunity to all under-aged boys and girls to be vaccinated with the HPV vaccine, under the state's expenses.
