Save our Cans

Minimum alcohol pricing is a strategy that simply won't work. It will cost jobs and simply will not reduce the numbers of people binge drinking. It makes simple recreational use of alcohol for less well off members of society proportionally far more expensive - flat rate charges such as minimum alcohol pricing discriminate against the poorer in our society.
The government's plan will not only fail to reduce the problem of alcoholism in Ireland, but it will also generate new social issues - perhaps it will push alcohol users towards harder drugs which are now relatively cheaper such as cannabis. Sign this petition to cause change in Ireland and to stop this shambolic plan in its tracks.
