The decision to make indoor events 50% capacity is devastating for the entertainment industry, particularly the Theatre world who have required vaccine passports and fully masked audiences throughout performances since reopening to ensure a safe environment for everybody. We could not have done more.
Amateur companies have spent months rehearsing pantomimes and shows which are on the brink of opening night in a safe environment and they won’t qualify for government funding to makeup for the financial shortfall. And professional producers have invested enormous amounts of money they’ll no longer be able to recoup. This will devastate theatrical companies & producers. Enough is enough.
