Problem
I don’t know why I’m reluctant to post this or even talk about it with my friends and family. Why do we stop ourselves from getting too worried about or involved in our environment or the state of it? I really feel I am exposing myself by even writing this petition but..I’m scared. I’ve never felt this scared about my future, about the future of the kids in my family, about the future of the country, about the future of.... Well..People!  

Ireland has only reduced carbon emissions by 1% since 2005. Our target was 20%. 20%... are we even trying? Do we even care?

I don’t think our government is doing enough to invest into renewable energy. I don’t think WE care enough to make it happen. I do still believe demand drives supply, so please sign this and demand that change from the top.

Solution
Immediate policy to phase out fossil fuels. Better subsidies for purchasing renewable energy sources, electric cars and bicycles. Better tax breaks for green companies and more levies for emissions heavy industries.

Personal story
I’m just a person. I’m guilty of burning fossil fules, not recycling, littering, polluting the water and generally being a selfish human...but I want to change.
