Ratify UN Convention on Human Rights for Disabled People in Ireland

This petition had 401 supporters

'equality' is a fundamental human right. By ignoring the pleas of disabled people for ratification of the UN convention on human rights for disabled people in the Republic of Ireland the government is saying we are NOT Equal citizens. By not ratifying this convention the Irish government allow abuse, degrading and humiliating treatment, prejudice, violence, hate crime, and inadequate health and social services . It allows poverty, lack of inclusion where housing , health, and care services are concerned. It allows and supports inequality. By supporting this petition you are supporting full citizenship for Irish disabled people. You are condemning the exclusion of disabled people from the supports and human rights they are entitled to. You are valuing the participation, the skills, the humanity of all irish disabled people. You uplift the oppressed in Ireland. Thank you for valuing us.
