Cheltenham Attendees - mandatory isolation
Cheltenham Attendees - mandatory isolation
Why this petition matters
Cheltenham has attracted thousands of visitors over the past few days, spending hours in close proximity of each other. On Tuesday, 60,664 people attended, while on Wednesday the festival attracted 56,943 visitors. There was no sign that the number of visitors had dropped significantly this year, attracting guests from around the globe.
Extra flights are put on the Dublin to Birmingham route during the festival. We will be welcoming back hundreds of Irish Cheltenham attendees tomorrow evening with no measures put in place. I understand that it was the UK's decision to allow the festival to be held, but we must abide by Irish rules to protect Irish citizens, especially those in the vulnerable category.
Compare the 60,000 attendees to Irish rules, where mass indoor gatherings of 100 or more, and outdoor gatherings of +500 have been cancelled.
Specific requirements and mandatory guidelines need to be in place for those Cheltenham attendees returning to work etc.
