Improvement of the Sewage System in Iriga City
Improvement of the Sewage System in Iriga City
The heavy volumes of storm runoff may overwhelm the sewage treatment system, causing a spill or overflow. We as a community have experienced floods, but normally it takes several hours of massive rainfall to flood the streets, particularly here in Iriga City. But now the present time even the short and very moderate rainfalls is sufficient enough to submerge the City Streets and roads into floods. Untreated sewage has the potential to cause a number of diseases, including diarrhea, if it pollutes the local environment.
The main reason why the City floods so easily is because of the permanently clogged storm drain tunnels, these tunnels play a vital role in maintaining and controlling the city's storm water management, a clogged catch basin causes a massive chain reaction in a particular area, as time continues, the clogged catch basin will stop the water from draining, eventually causing floods.
The solution to this matter is to provide a mandatory cleaning of the storm drain tunnels, and it must be strictly followed by the public and avoid throwing trash all around the city. Secondly if it is possible to rethink the current state of the sewage system and make inventions and renovate it to better serve it's very main purpose.
