On September 6, 2022, my wife is scheduled to begin her school semester in Ontario, but unfortunately, her visa and mine are yet to be approved. 

My concern is heightened because our 2 year old daughter, who is the accompanying dependent, has had her visa approved while my wife waits in limbo. 

We have reached out to my wife’s school, however, they disclosed that they have no influence on the decisions of IRCC. even though tuition for this semester has been paid in full. 

I have made 5 inquiries which have been directed to Nairobi, Kenya, where Nigerian applications are being processed, but up until now, all I have received is an automated response, saying I will be reverted to in 28 days even though my case was tagged urgent. Those 28 days have come and gone and it has been to no avail.

When we did some digging, we found that we were not alone. Applications which were submitted during the week of May 8 to 13, appear to not have received any decision, while applications after that week appear to have received a decision. I suspect that there might have been an oversight, which has contributed to this seemingly endless delay.  

My wife has been so distraught with worry, that she has been sick for days. I am appealing to the IRCC to urgently investigate my wife’s case and assist us in helping her achieve her educational milestone.
