We, the undersigned, urge the immediate and unconditional release of Iranian  human rights activist Narges Mohammadi. Mohammadi, who served as the vice president of the Defenders of Human Rights Center in Tehran, has repeatedly been imprisoned for her completely peaceful efforts to promote human and women’s rights, much to the detriment of her health.  

In January, 2022, Mohammadi, who was already serving time in Gharchak Prison, was sentenced to an additional eight years imprisonment and 70 lashes after a five minute trial. Please release this courageous woman and permit her to rejoin her husband and two children, now in exile in France.
