Introduce Net Neutrality legislation in the Illinois State Senate.

With the FCC likely reversing the 2015 decision for reclassification of Internet Service Providers in the coming year, and subsequently the authority to regulate those providers as a utility; States will need to step up and set a precedent for consumer protections and require ISPs to follow the recommended guidelines of Net Neutrality through the introduction of state-wide legislation.
The consequences of not taking action are significant to all consumers and businesses and could lead to tiered internet which would stall innovation and prevent new companies from gaining exposure, cost consumers more to access the online resources of their choosing, tightened data caps with ever-increasing overage costs and many other tangible effects.
Urge senator Ira I. Silverstein to introduce Net Neutrality legislation in the Illinois Senate; protecting Illinois consumers and businesses and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.
