ATTENTION RESIDENCES OF MARSDEN HOUSE !! I write with great reluctance and a heavy heart. I am not at ease with such dealings but what must be done, must be done! It is about the current state of our gateway system as it has failed us in functionality and brings constant frustration to everyone that encounters it. The current reality of the situation has seen residences of Marsden House being forced to use only one revolving door to both access and vacate the site. This is a problem when the 1000 + residences have to wait in long inconvenient lines just to come and go from their new "homes". It is a sad state of affairs when the students of Leeds can be expected to pay in excess of £154.99 per week for the "privilege" to queue up on a daily basis. Not only is this unsafe but it can make us late for lectures and exams. 

If such a high price is commanded for these facilities then the facilities in question should be held to the same high level of standards, as they would be held to in the professional world. I do not believe that students should be exempt from this basic standard of customer care, just as professionals would not be expected to put up with a low customer care standard.

To rectify this awful issue I suggest that we band together as one group in unison to get the IQ company that owns Marsden House to install at least a second turnstile gate. This gate would be bigger in size compared to the current to allow of more ease of use when bringing bags of shopping on-site and will at least allow residents to both enter and exit the site at the same time. By signing this petition you will be doing your bit to enact change and better your community.

To highlight and summarise the issues at hand :

• We do not have an easy way to both come and go from the site.
• We do not have an easy way to carry luggage, shopping or anything of this nature both to and from the site.
• When people are coming and going from the site at the same time there is great congestion as the gate only allows for one person at one time in one direction.
• It is a health and safety issue.
