Ipswich City Council has continuously failed to act on numerous requests made by concerned residents of Springfield and surrounds that frequently travel on the above-mentioned road/intersection. 

At every intersection along Sportstar Drive, cyclists are given the green light and priority over and above the motorists who are given a red arrow at every traffic light, regardless of pedestrian/cyclist/vehicle traffic. Vehicular traffic far out numbers pedestrian and  cyclist traffic at any time of the day and night.

The traffic lights at the intersection in question do not seem to work on a sensor, therefore it can take at least a couple of cycles for a motorists to get a green arrow in either direction. This is causing motorists to become extremely frustrated with the delays and are turning on red arrows. This has resulted in a few near misses that could lead to either serious injury or even worse, a fatality.

We, the residents of Springfield and the surrounds, would like you, the Council, to acknowledge our concerns and to rectify this issue promptly so that motorists, pedestrians and cyclists can remain safe on our roads.
