Compel utilities to incentivize locally owned renewable energy systems
Publicly owned utilities such as Alliant and Mid-American Energy spend over $100 million per year on efficiency but fail to invest in local renewable resources such as wind, solar thermal, and photovoltaics. Public comments to the Iowa Utilities Board are being accepted through March 2, 2013 so if you're hoping to see YOUR money work towards a sustainable low carbon future, now is the time to speak up by signing this petition.
We want streamlined, meaningful, and immediate access to renewables for every homeowner. Effective models for these household renewable energy programs exist throughout the country, why are we not replicating these successes? Let's cut the excuses, not the renewable energy program!
