Why this petition matters
Started by Nathan Rethwisch
Learning a secondary language has a plethora of benefits, whether it be increased neurological and problem-solving skills, heightened empathy, or a better chance in the job market. However, simply taking a secondary education class in high school is not enough for the average student to become fluent. Instead, these classes should be introduced to elementary schoolers. A student who begins training in another language by the age of 10 has a much better chance of becoming fluent in that language. Children are also more receptive to new languages and the idea of failure, which drives learning. To help the next generation of students, please sign this petition to get secondary language education into our elementary schools.
