With their combined 150 year history, baseball & softball have grown from an American pastime to a highly popular international team sport on the verge of becoming the world’s next great global game. Today, baseball & softball rank as the largest worldwide sport not on the Olympic programme.
More than 65 million play the game around the world in front of more than a billion fans every year. Everybody everywhere can pick up a bat and ball and learn to play the game, regardless of age, gender, social, cultural or economic stature.
There is great potential for continuing growth -- growth best driven by the unique global inspiration that only the Olympic Games can provide.
We’re in the final innings of a eight-year campaign to get the sport we love back in the Games -- and we need every baseball and softball player and their families, friends and fans to stand with us today.
