Why this petition matters

Started by Jake Collins

Hey everyone,

I'm sure after last weekends London Film and Comic Con you were as disappointed as I was with the organisation of this event.

Joseph Quinn claims aside, what I witnessed and was a witness to was poor management by staff, overselling of the event, poor training, as well as breaches to Trading Standards.

First off, LFCC did not sign post of barrier off anywhere people were meant to go or were not meant to go. This resulted in chaos in which people were being shouted (like myself) for being close to guest tables without even knowing they were meant to be there.

Secondly, they claim that they did not oversell. My friend went out for a cigarette like he did 3 times already that day, however this time he was told he could not enter back through the exit without a gold pass (additional cost not previously divulged which is a breach in trading standards) and would have to go round the front where they were told the building was at maximum capacity and would have to wait for people to leave. They oversold it and know full well.

Thirdly, there was a disregard for health and access to the handicapped. Staff were not given sufficient training in handling those that were disabled or had health issues.

All of the above needs to be addressed, not just for future events but as a way to show these organisers the British Public do not tolerate this poor treatment.

Thank you

Jake Collins
