Investigate ICAC for corruption and corrupt influence.
ICAC needs urgent reform.
ICAC stands the fundamental principle of democracy on its head - innocent until proven guilty.
The fact that people can be named in Ms Berejiklian’s instance and have their whole private life splashed across the media, job gone, vocation gone, and pride and reputation damaged, when she has been charged with nothing, is surely totally unacceptable to any fair-minded person.
These matters should all be heard “in camera” and, if a case can be made against an individual, refer those matters to the DPP (credit - Alan Jones).
And, even then, as with many cases in the past, the evidence has proved insufficient to proceed. Too late. Reputations have been trashed.
To reform ICAC is to protect the fundamental principle of innocence on which justice in a western democracy depends.
