Save Free Swimming For Over 60s in Inverclyde

In the 2018/19 budget Inverclyde council decided to scrap free swimming for Over 60s along with other cuts. This is unfair and short sighted by Inverclyde Council. No money will be saved by the council, as it costs nothing extra for older people to swim, but they are hoping they will get an increase in income through making older people pay for the privilege of swimming.
Instead this will deter many older people from swimming due to the costs. Taking away a rare opportunity for many older people in Inverclyde to exercise and socialise will do far more harm than any increase the council makes from eating into our granny's pensions.
