During the recent Fiji Fact tournaments,we as spectators have witnessed a lot of fallacy by the referees which resulted In a few tears having unfair treatment and being knocked out in pool games.In these kind of situations, from a professional perspective the video assistance referee system will promote limited impartial and accurate decision making.Although the system does not clarify all potential areas of ambiguity reviewing a video replay reduces errors and accordingly enhances the professional standards of both referees and players.It can be a very good medium to assist referees in decision making such as whether a goal has been scored or which player committed a foul.Video technology can provide more objective information and can be valuable to increase decisional accuracy.A video screen on end can provide spectators and commentators immediate access to the footage and they can increasingly rely on it to scrutinise referees decision making.Team players,organisers,spectators put in a lot of effort to prepare play and witness such tournaments,not forgetting overseas spectators who sacrifice a lot to watch the game live in person.,but all they get is disappointment.If the trend continues like the current situation,it won’t come as a surprise when we will find the pavilions to be empty during such tournaments.Hope Fiji FA can consider our request and implement such measures for transparency which will avoid any further fallacy and misconceptions raising the standards of soccer in Fiji.
