Intervention/Prevention Programs across Canada in Schools for Anti-bullying

School bullying occurs in every realm of society. Students suffer harmful effects when they are emotionally and physically abused. Society must take active measures to end this ongoing injustice of students and help school yard bullies in understanding the effects of their actions. I feel like not enough is being done across the country to teach children and youth on how to prevent bullying more effectively and how to deal with it. More importantly, ways to deal with the bully itself and to make sure each individual gets the help they deserve. A bully isn't a bully for no reason, they are hurting too. This petition is to try and get more awareness across Canada and to come up with an intervention prevention plan. Not only is anti-bullying prevention important, we also need to reteach the children and youth how to tell someone about it. If intervention programs are used in schools or even the community to help the bully, then it’s possible for less school violence to happen. It’s a proven fact that a person who bullies is being bullied themselves, and often experience behavioral and emotional difficulties after they have bullied others. Researchers found that bullies are more likely than their classmates to suffer from low self-esteem, depression, and behavioural problems from early childhood and through primary school. So please let’s get together and reteach the youth about bullying, how it can be effectively prevented and implement intervention programs for everyone involved including the bully.
