The committee has stated that Victoria Arlen is ineligible to participate in the upcoming Paralympic Swimming World Championships in Montreal due to the fact that her disability may not be permanent. The decision was made after a recent medical report states, if she gets years of physical therapy she might be able to walk again. She is currently paralyzed from the waist down and has been training hard for these games that are to start in just a few days. The committee has ruled that because her disability may not be permanent that she is ineligible. Please stand with me in letting the IPC know that it should be the persons level of disability at the time of the competition, not in the future! Who knows, with the ongoing advances in medicine, one day in the future everyone with a paralysis may be cured. Should they be banned also? Thank you.
