The #LetHerRun petition was made to raise awareness on what is currently happening in the world of track & field, especially with the Olympic Games right around the corner. This petition also calls for the re-evaluation of the outdated & arbitrary guidelines of the Olympic Games.
Sha'Carri Richardson, an American 100 meter phenom from Louisiana State University was recently suspended 30 days due to a positive marijuana test, which will prevent her from competing in the 100 meter dash at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics. Marijuana is NOT a performance enhancing drug, and did not give Sha'Carri any competitive advantage. In fact, marijuana is legal in 19 states including Oregon, where the Olympic trials took place.
In addition, Christine Mboma & Beatrice Masilingi have not been permitted to run the 400m dash at the Olympic Games due to the "suspicion" of high testosterone levels. Suspicion is not enough to pull athletes out of events, especially without solid evidence. This also is affecting 3 other female runners from other countries.
Please sign this petition, and join us in the #LetHerRun movement to fulfill these female athletes' dreams of representing their countries in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
