The Triple N. Collective calls on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to cancel the Democratic Republic of the Congo's Debt. We ask the IMF, because they handle the national debt, to demand that the countries whom the Congo is indebted to, specifically the Chinese government, provide the region with intensive debt relief.

The region’s current debt constitutes 85.5% of its total GDP. This amount of debt is unjustifiable, as the Congo loses billions each year by providing resources to those countries that keep them in debt and dependent. We specifically call on China, and the IMF. China is currently the Congo’s largest exploiter, racking up debt in the country while using its geographical location to expand their "sicomines." The IMF, who handles national debt, has issued the country a three-year lending program that has placed the country even further in ruin.

This cancellation of debt, with no strings attached, would lift a burden off the country and provide room for the economic development that would uplift its citizen’s right to self-determination, and remedy the Human Rights violation and neocolonial method known as "tactical aid."
