The human rights of the citizens of Nigeria are currently being violated. The president and commander-in-chief of the armed forces, President Muhammadu Buhari has unleashed the military on innocent protesters in Lagos state. As at the time of creating this petition, (2000 hours on Tuesday, October 19 2020), armed military men are shooting at protesters. We have seen graphic videos and images of this criminal act and we call on the International Criminal Court for an immediate investigation of this horrendous act.

The nationwide protest started out as peaceful and very well organised. The Nigerian government allegedly sent thugs to cause some disruption and thereby portray the protests as violent abd chaotic. This move allowed the Lagos and Edo state governments to impose a 24-hour curfew in their states. Lagos state particularly has been a nightmare since the announcement of thr curfew and people are dying. 

We need help. The military is shooting at innocent citizens at the Admiralty Tollgate Plaza in Victoria Island. We do not know how many people have lost their lives yet. 

We call on the international community to step in. President Muhammadu Buhari must be held accountable for every life that has been lost.
