Name the Earth’s Moon.

Name the Earth’s Moon.
Why this petition matters

Our planet’s moon is called Moon.
According to the internet (which has yet to be wrong), the Earth’s only major satellite didn’t need a name because our selfish ancestors thought it was the only one in the galaxy.
Then space nerd Galileo stepped it up and said, “Uh, Jupiter has more than sixty moons...” causing the world to go ape-cray, but instead of naming our moon something cool, they named every other moon discovered from that point on.
Heck, even the thing that crashed in to the Earth and chunked off what become our moon has a rad name: Theia. As in the titan Theia. Keep up.
The moon has had more than 4.5 billion birthday parties, but it’s never gotten the only gift it wanted – a proper name.
Sign this petition to ask the IAU to give our moon a fit and proper name. Let’s be honest: 2020 needs a bright spot, and there’s no brighter spot than our moon.*
