Because we are also part of this nature and this is our duty to keep our nature safe.if human have rights then animals too have their rights and  If we do not work on them ...then we'll be culprit too ...In the Mahabharata, when Ashwatthama hit Uttara's womb Shri Krishna had snatched her death from his not only that woman or any creature attacking a pregnant is guilty of nature but also no human has any right to harm anything created by nature.
