On Average, a woman should receive a Pap smear 2 to 3 times a year. However, Pap smears can cost anywhere from $30 for the initial exam to $1000 for the laboratory expenses. Because of these costs, many American woman do not have the financial or geographical means to obtain this service. 

I am petitioning to make women's health more affordable by providing access to more health facilities that provide free/low cost Pap smears.

However, financial access is only one part of the equation! Affordability aside, location of these services is another issue. In many areas of the U.S., the closest health center that provides free to low costs exams are miles away and women who do not have access to transportation are often forgotten or left behind.

This petition is also to help these women...There need to be more clinics within range of people who do not have primary access to a vehicle or transportation. Women's health should not be swept under the rug or forgotten!
