Instituting Nap Time into Oshkosh West High School
Have you ever woken up in the morning and felt tired and not focused enough for school? The solution to this problem would be instituting a time where students can take just a 20-30 minute nap to make up for lost sleep. Mary Sauer in the article, How long should I nap, talks about how “a short nap of 20 to 30 minutes can improve mood, sharpen focus, and reduce fatigue”(Sauer). This would truly help students who have out-of-school activities, sports, and homework to do at night. This also has already helped students in other schools. According to Selema Graham at Las Cruces high school in New Mexico, “She dozed off. Twenty minutes later when the timer buzzed, she felt refreshed”(Graham). This solution would increase focus and mood in class and overall increase grades for students.
