In the United States the leading cause of death for teenagers is motor vehicle accidents. At my school alone, 2 people have lost their lives due to fatal motor vehicle incidents. We need innovative solutions to prevent more of these accidents. How many will it take before we take action? Motor Vehicle fatalities have been normalised as “a part of driving” we need to work on reducing the number of fatalities and motor vehicle accidents. That is why I believe installing roundabouts or reduced conflict intersections at the busier intersections in Skokie is the solution. According to WSDOT roundabouts that  replaces traditional intersections saw a 90% reduction in fatal collisions. According to FHWA Diverging Diamonds reduce vehicle conflict points by 50%.
