To Whom It May Concern,

We are a group of homeowners in the “donut hole” of North Miami Beach, 33162, who have repeatedly requested that our blocks be included in the sewer system that exists a few blocks away.

The areas that we are requesting the hookup to the sewer system are as follows:

The north and south sides of Northeast 172 Street between 12th and 14th Avenues
The north and south sides of Northeast 171 Terrace between 12th and 13th Avenue

At this point in time a sewer line exists and is fully operational on the north side of Northeast 171 Street between 12th and 14th Avenues.

We are petitioning the county to begin the process of connecting us to this system so that we can “get off septic” and have our water and waste go through the sewer lines.  

We are urging you to respond positively to our request as we are concerned about the ecological impact our septic system is having upon the beautiful waters of our neighborhood. 

As this is not a new request, we are imploring you to reply swiftly and positively to our letter.

We are looking forward to joining with our neighbors who are fortunate to already be hooked up to the sewer system. We can enjoy a better quality of life in our neighborhood, protect the beauty of the surrounding “water areas” and feel comfortable that our streets will no longer be flooded after every rainstorm, which is detrimental to the welfare of our children as they spend a good portion of their free time outdoors, rain or shine. 

Equally as important as the safety of our children, we pride ourselves on beautifying our area and it is nearly impossible to landscape and pave driveways properly if up to half of the "front square footage" of our properties are beholden to the space needed for septic tanks and drainfields.
