Since having moved to the village of Great Broughton over two years ago, I have witnessed over three RTA’s and very dangerous speeding.

This has always been a concern of mine but since having my daughter in August 2021, I feel as though something needs to be done in terms of traffic calming measures. 

Traffic speeds through the village up from Middlesbrough and down from Helmsley. Large lorries and motorcycles are also frequent users of the high street. Due to the lack of parking for residents of the village, there are a significant number of cars parked on the left hand side of the high street, obviously obstructing part of the road due to no fault of their own. However, this causes a lot of traffic disruption and speeding vehicles who do not know the village well, don’t know to slow down.

Unfortunately I believe it is only a matter of time until an accident occurs. There are a lot of small children, animals and elderly people residing in the village and I would hate for anything to happen to anyone.

Speed bumps or a speeding camera are absolutely necessary.
