As we all know, climate change is an urgent matter, and we need to act now to have a livable tomorrow. In Quebec, our greenhouse gas emissions are heavily influenced by the transport sector. According to a report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in 2019, 30% of Canada’s emissions come from the transport sector. We need to get people out of their cars and using active transport! We, the undersigned residents of the city of Montreal call upon the Executive Committee of the Ville de Montreal to install safer biking infrastructures around the city by building more bike paths, bike racks in safe areas of the streets, and more  signage to warn car and truck drivers in less safe areas of the city, to make people feel safe when they want to help the planet by taking their bikes.
