As every Del Sur resident knows, the crosswalk in the area of Paseo Montenero and Old Stonefield Chase is extremely dangerous.  Adding in the fact that there is a public park adjacent to Del Sur Elementary school’s parking lot, it is simply a matter of time until an accident occurs.  Let’s keep that from happening.

We have all witnessed near-misses due to cars not slowing down for children as they cross, speeding over the 25 mph posted limit, or harried drivers who just aren’t willing to be patient.

While we understand that there are two crosswalks by the school, the city is only likely to approve the crosswalk near the public park.

Please lend your support by signing this petition and asking the city to keep our residents and their children SAFE by installing a four-way stop in this area!
