2021 was a time when my friends and family had their personal Instagram account stolen. 
all steps to recover was followed as best as possible but Instagram has done nothing outside of a generic response. 
Christmas morning, I woke up to my account hacked. I tried to recover it and I am still trying. The person who has my Instagram account has asked everyone of my followers for gift cards because “ I “ am in danger or need help.  When i asked him what it would take for him/her to give me my account back, I was asked how much money was it worth to me. Yes now I am offering to gift for my account back. 
Family and friends have reported this person as not me and still, nothing has been done.
