A few months ago, a friend of mine fell victim to a scammer on Instagram. The scammer hacked into her account and posted something related to bitcoin. Since that friend is someone I trust, I nearly got scammed, falsely believing my friend posted it themselves. Later, it happened to two of my other friends as well as a few other people on Instagram.

Yesterday, I lost both of my accounts due to the same reason. The scammer asked me to vote for them in a magazine contest. In hopes of supporting a fellow artist, I agreed. The scammer told me to change my email address to two unfamiliar ones, one being giveawaylinkcashapp47@gmail.com. Although I had suspicion lingering in the back of my head, I decided to give them a second chance and I agreed to do so. However, I had realised that I made the worst mistake when I found out that I got locked out of both of my accounts.

I beg Instagram to investigate into this phenomena, catch the scammers and ensure that victims, such as myself, my friends and other Instagram users, can get our accounts back.
