In the early 2019, Instagram updated their algorithm. Having removed their ‘chronological order system’ in 2016. In 2019, Instagram is making it worse.
Instagram's most recent algorithm is inflicting a loss for us as content creator. When we create a new post, at the beginning it will only be viewed by 10-15 % of the total followers.
If it is found to receive a well number of engagements in the course of time of one hour, it will be shown to a greater number of followers. Yet, if it is found to have a poor number of engagement it will only be shown to a smaller number of followers.
In our opinion, this system is less effective in determining which posts to be shown on the feed of our followers. The recent algorithm is frustrating the content creator. The decreasing numbers of likes impact the number of engagements as well as the number of followers.
In addition to the statement above, the algorithm effects our posts that it is rarely shown on the feed of the followers. Making our account appear to be missing on instagram.
We proposed to Instagram to return to the previous algorithm system, so that our posts are visible for the followers.
