I have been shopping with Instacart as a personal shopper since March 2020. I just want to have Instacart be reprimanded for stealing out of their own independent contractors hard earned money. Instacart claims to pay seven dollars minimum batch pay for going to a store no matter if you were there for 10 minutes or two hours. Instacart also offers an additional $.60 per mile. However for the last two or three months I’ve been taking screenshots of how grossly underpaid we are for our mileage. For me, I have to reach out to support multiple times a day for almost every order to have my batch pay corrected. Yesterday, I was deactivated as a result of canceling an order due to a flat tire. For something so Minuscule, I thought this should be brought to our governments attention. If they are not paying for mileage on every single order for me and it amounts to $25-$30 a day if not more, then chances are they’re doing it to all of the other shoppers. This means that MILLIONS are being stolen from us on a daily basis depending on Instacart ‘s order volume. Something has to be done because the way Instacart has been doing business lately is unethical. I am calling for a class action lawsuit and I am looking for more information related to resources and funding for such a project.
