Petition for Redcliffe school caterers to ditch single use plastic

Petition for Redcliffe school caterers to ditch single use plastic
Why this petition matters
Here at Bristol Climate project we are working towards reducing single use plastics in our local area. A shocking and unnecessary amount of packaging is used and discarded every day in St Mary Redcliffe sixth form and the main school and we want to put a stop to this as this is an issue that affects us all.
Our aim is to put a rule in place to ban the sale of these plastics in both the sixth form and the main school. We feel this is a reasonable request and it will not have a negative impact on the business. There are plenty of examples of businesses successfully swapping out plastic bottles for reusable ones and cans as well as offering discounts on food when customers bring in reusable containers.
BCP will be attending the next school meeting with innovate in order to persuade them to make this change but we can not do it without your support! If we want them to listen to us we will need to show them that our opinion is backed by the student body so as to put as much pressure on them as possible. As young people it is our responsibility to fight for the change we want to see and speak out about topics we care about. We strongly urge you to sign this petition and have your say in this issue as it is the least we can do as a school. Thank you.
