Julie Passas, who is rerunning for Inner West Council is not a friend to LGBTQIA+ people or any progressive people in the area.

The party that Passas originally ran with, the Liberals, are a scourge to the Inner West Council. Running as an independent now, she has dubbed herself ‘the vocal local.’  

Disgustingly, Julie Passas verbally abused a queer neighbour of hers for simply putting out a Pride flag to celebrate the Yes Vote.

Passas was fined. The NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal found Passas to have engaged in "unlawful homosexual vilification".

As a proud trans woman of the Inner West, I believe right wing cranks like Passas have no place in our council, nor do the party that supported and had her in council. 

I was disappointed to learn that Inner West Labor in 2017 had assented to Passas as Deputy Mayor and another Liberal once again in 2018. There's never an excuse to do deals with homophobes and bigots like the Liberals. 

It's time Labor ended the dodgy deals with the Libs and actually stand with the community to get rid of Passas, along with all other right wing councillors with no deal and no preferences.

This is one vocal local we shouldn't have to hear from ever again.
