A conjugal visit is a scheduled period in which an inmate of a prison or jail is permitted to spend several hours or days in private with a visitor, usually their legal spouse. Only four states currently allow conjugal visits. The states are California, Connecticut, New York, and Washington.
I believe that the state of Texas should have conjugal visits ,(spouse/family) I think it's more helpful then harmful for the inmate population. In fact it brings a stronger marriage, stronger family. As well conjugal visits will also allow for a more intamate relationship with their loved one or family. This connection opens the heart and door for an emotional bond/connection with one another. It's already hard for the inmates to be incarcerated living in an unknown world, at the end of the day they're still human, the state already isolates them from society but they still have the right to love and have a special time with their love ones even though their in there for a reason we shouldn't take that privilege from them I believe conjugal visits would be a very positive thing for them . Studies have shown that the inmate that have "conjugal visits " are the ones who continue having good conduct and are most likely to qualify for parole on the first try .And this is a very positive thing for the inmates and the guards and make their facilities a saver and better place .
