This Petition is to bring out the truth behind what each and every Commercial Pilot License (CPL) holders with or without experience in India is going through.

Each Pilot in India, especially who is just a holder of CPL without airline experience started there training because of there only dream of flying airplanes from a very young age. Not all the pilots who do their training are coming with a rich family background, that is a misconception running throughout the world that every pilots comes from a rich background. About 60% of the trainee pilots arrange there money for this expensive training via bank loans and from money which they borrow from money lenders which is of high interest rate.

Now, after completing the training the next step is to get into the dream airline pilot job to fly the planes as well as to get some money for the living. It is a myth that we pilots need to live a colorful and glamorous life, all we want is to pay back all the money which we borrowed from banks and lenders. After the training some pilots do Type Rating hoping to get into an airline and to have a good chance of getting a call for an interview but the sad truth is Type Rating  is current and valid for just 1 year and if we are unable to land a job in that time frame, we then need to do the refreshment course and that cost an extra 4 to 5 lakhs above what we spend for initial Type rating which cost around 13 to 15 lakhs minimum. now total costing to around 19 to 20 lakhs.

There have been absolutely ZERO job vacancies from airlines for CPL holders who are waiting for years and years even after the pandemic situation has improved.

Here comes the next horrible fact -

Even though there are 2 new airlines coming up, they are hiring only the experienced pilots who are already working for other airlines companies, thereby that chance of getting into the company for other CPL holders is being shattered. Airlines in India have a horrible practice of hiring from something called FAMILY PROGRAM in which Pilots who have family members already in the company are given priority to apply and get into the company, while all other pilots who dont have a family member in the company to loose their chance.

Apart from hiring experienced and people from family program, there is something called CADET PILOT PROGRAM (CPP),in which the airlines take up 85- 1 crore from the cadets and get their initial and type rating , along with a job security . The conventional CPL holders tend to loose out to them as well in terms of securing a job. Even though it is a common practice done by airlines around the world, they are NOT bothered about any pilots training of there own, in India or from abroad.

Say a hiring has come up for CPL holders and that candidate has managed to pass the initial written exam, now the airlines in India are asking for a very huge amount of money for Type Rating while in all other countries , airlines do hire people and sponsor their TR while holding them on a BOND basis. Its very sad to believe that these airlines in India are not being bothered about that the cost for the initial training is arranged via loans. Now the candidate need to arrange 25 to 30 lakhs to fulfill that company policy. That makes the candidate to go into even deeper dept.

Now, even if the candidate manages to pay that huge amount to the company, airlines in India will make that candidate to wait many years without inducting him to fly the planes, and during that waiting period he/she wont be getting paid and his dept worsens, forcing that person to sell there own house or land to pay that loan.

It is a request from all the CPL holders of this country, to all the airlines and to the Govt of India to take action against this practice and help us from being in a trap after spending a huge amount for training only to fulfill our dream and thereby saving out life from being in the biggest trap of loans that we have got from banks and money lenders.

Please save our life, or in the coming days or months the Govt of India may come to know about the fact that CPL holders in India left there LIFE because of this problem. Before its being too late...PLEASE!
