As someone profoundly impacted by President Trump's policies and actions, this petition calls for the initiation of impeachment proceedings against him. From my personal viewpoint and those of countless others I know and love, the actions taken by President Trump have proven immensely difficult for us. From his immigration policies that have separated families to his climate policies that endanger our planet's future, the effects of his leadership have touched people deeply on a personal level. It is not my intention to incite animosity, but to demand accountability.

Articles of impeachment were already drawn up amidst his tenure, including charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, as noted by The Washington Post (December 2019). With over half the House of Representatives voting in favor of impeachment then, it is mindful to consider the necessity of this pursuit. In light of these circumstances, we need to uphold the values of fairness, transparency and democracy.
