N Manhattan Ave Traffic Signals

N Manhattan Ave is a busy corridor for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclist. This project enhances safety for all users, by reducing conflict points between vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles. To do so, flashing beacons will be removed and full traffic signals installed at 3 locations (Vattier St, Thurston St, & Petticoat Ln). These signals will be coordinated using ITS (intelligent transportation systems) to create efficient vehicular traffic flow through the entire corridor. In addition, the signals will create predictable pedestrian crossings; reducing the number of pedestrians darting out into the street. Crash data analysis shows this is a high crash corridor in need of improvements.
