Inequality in the justice system
I’ve made this petition to spread awareness about the Quinten Osgood case. Who has been wrongfully convicted of murder with video evidence. Quinten Lavel Osgood jr., a black man, a father, and a Twin Cities native, convicted of second degree intentional murder and sentenced to over two consecutive decades of imprisonment.
Quinten plead self-defense at trial, taking responsibility and admitting to the events which lead up to the unfortunate death of a man by the name Anthony Madison, who continuously chased and assaulted Osgood before the stabbing. At the time of the altercation Mr.Madison was on top of Osgood, on the ground, viciously and unyieldingly assaulting him.
Quinten’s charge, conviction, and sentence is abhorrently unjust and unreasonable where factually similar incidents and cases in the state of Minnesota involving a white offender who took a life under similar circumstances and/ or had engaged in similar conduct who were either not charged with a criminal offense. We acknowledge the tragic and devastating impact Quinten’s acts had on Madison’s family and friends and society at large. With video evidence here you will be able to see this was not intentional murder. Nevertheless justice must be equitably served. Quinten calls for help in the community please join us in supporting this cause and sign this petition.
