This is a petition to induct singer/ songwriter Keith Whitley into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Keith Whitley is and was a much loved and talented country music singer/ songwriter who started out at the age of 4 years old performing and by the time he was in his teens he was performing with many big time greats in country music.  He passed away May 9 1989. He charted 12 singles on the Billboard country charts during his lifetime and 7 posthumously. Songs made great by Keith Whitley three decades after his death are still getting radio air play. His popularity amongst country music fans is unsurpassed and many current artist harken back to his sound for inspiration. He deserves this. It's past due time to honor Keith Whitley. Let's do this!
