The X (Ryerson) University Politics and Governance program, as well as many others, do not offer a required Indigenous Studies course taught by an Indigenous instructor. When we do learn about these issues it often comes from a white perspective, although many professors do their best to discuss these issues. We need required, Indigenous Studies courses in our programs in order to better facilitate Truth and Reconciliation from an Indigenous perspective.  

I recommend emailing program department heads such as Tuna Baskoy: tbaskoy@ryerson.ca, President Lachemi's office: pres@ryerson.ca, along with other departments and officials. Together we can make the necessary changes to our racist, colonial university education.
