Skatepark at Southeastway Park in Indianapolis Indiana

Skatepark at Southeastway Park in Indianapolis Indiana

I am writing to see if there is enough support to get a skatepark built at southeastway park. Southeastway would be a great location to build a new skatepark, the park itself is large, has land, and has a very active community to spend time there. Currently there are not many places in the Indianapolis area for people to skate, scooters, or bmx. The ones we do have are downtown, or in other counties.
I am a resident of Shelby County, but I have always considered Southeastway to be my local park. If you aren't familiar with the area the park sits on the border of Franklin Township, Warren Township, New Palestine, and Moral Township. Two of the four townships are extremely large and three of them are growing very quickly.
we have 3 children, all of which stay pretty active. They love to participate in all sorts of outdoor activities, but the one thing they seem to love the most is playing at a skatepark. Currently we travel all over to take them to skate parks but it would be amazing to have one closer to home. Unfortunately sometimes we travel only to find the parks are over crowded and really there isn't much room to add more people into the area.
I think it would be great to add more parks in general to the Indianapolis or surrounding areas but I would really love to see one built at Southeastway. This would be a great addition for the local community. Skating in general gives people of all ages a positive activity to focus on. It helps develop a lot of different skills and it help bring people outdoors!
One thing I love about Southeastway, is that park is always filled with families. Every time we visit we see groups of people playing, riding bikes, skating, walking, and doing all sorts of things. One thing I have noticed while visiting a lot of the skateparks is that there isn't really anywhere for families to sit and watch or participate. I think it would be amazing to incorporate this into this park, and make it more of a skate park for families.
Southeastway already has land, parking, bathrooms, and a lot of visitors. All it needs now is a place to skate. Who else would like to see a park built here? Please sign if you would like to see this happen too.
