The CDC has established counter productive guidelines in which require vaccinated individuals to mask up indoors. IU Bloomington reciprocated this and is now requiring the same standard on campus, after requiring every student faculty and staff to be fully vaccinated from COVID-19. With 85% of campus vaccinated, I am fighting for the idea of individual choice. I believe we shall risk assess on our own proper judgement and that a mask mandate from the University is not necessary. There is also many kinds of data that prove that mask mandates are not effective at preventing the spread of the Delta Variant, especially reusable cloth face masks. Students should have the right to mask up if they please but it should no longer be mandated anymore.
