Evan West started this petition to Indiana state legislation and

Franklin Township has an obvious lack of sidewalks. Every day people are forced to walk in muddy or flooded grass ditches on the sides of roads on their way to work. Even when the temperatures drop below freezing or it rains for hours, people still need access to their workplace. Sidewalks in Franklin Township could fix all of those problems. For less than a percent of the Indiana Transportation Budget, the suburbs of our township could be connected to cities like Greenwood where jobs are more abundant. Building these sidewalks could create jobs during construction and encourage more activity that might have been discouraged before. As a student residing in the township, I know I was always scared to walk or bike anywhere because of a fear of getting hit by cars. The narrow 2 lane roads just don't offer enough safety for children as well as adult pedestrians. With enough support, my team could introduce this issue to the Indianapolis government officials, but we need your signature!
