The Southside Education Community Coalition (SECC), a group of southside neighbors, community partners, and neighborhood associations, wants to support the future of Emma Donnan Elementary and Middle School and Emmerich Manual High School to better the educational opportunities for students and families on the southside and throughout Indianapolis.

To do this, SECC urges the Indiana State Board of Education (IN-SBOE) to turn both schools back over to the local school district, Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS). SECC strongly supports IPS' efforts to work with Christel House Indianapolis to operate a K-12 campus and Drop Out Recovery School (DORS) at Manual High School. SECC also supports IPS' efforts to find a K-8 operator for Emma Donnan Elementary and Middle School, including a Innovation partnership or Choice option. 

These schools are critical to the future of the southside. SECC is seeking the support of our neighbors and community partners as we advocate to the IN-SBOE to give back local control to IPS, increase accountability that is currently lacking, and providing a high-quality educational option to our community.
